One of my customers generously shared pictures of how she uses Sarenrae Blonde Herbal Hair Color for natural gray coverage. Her hair is so lovely and healthy, and Sarenrae gives her a lovely sun-kissed color without bleaching, chemicals, or damage.
The Method
In these pictures you can see her white and gray roots that still need Sarenrae (bottom) and how she’s applied Sarenrae to just the roots (top). Doing just the roots not only lets her save on product, it also makes it much easier to rinse out than a full-head application each time.
My customer shared how often she uses Sarenrae:
The grey I sent you is 2 weeks of growth. There may be a little fade but my hair grows really fast (1 inch a month), which is why I do it every 2 weeks. I don’t notice fade from my ears down so it’s probably just my growth.
And her method of mixing:
I use filtered water, boil it and let it sit on my warm stove for 2 -3 hours. Then I put it roots only for 2.5-3 hours. That’s all!
The Results
She gets such a lovely, natural blonde with no hints of her whites or grays.
In closing she also said the sweetest thing that utterly made my day 🙂

What is Sarenrae Blonde Herbal Hair Color?
Sarenrae Blond Herbal Hair Color imparts warm golden tones to lighter colored hair, and giving amazing natural conditioning properties to darker colored hair (it cannot lighten hair). Sarenrae Blonde Herbal Hair Color and Conditioner is made entirely from powdered herbs.
The golden color comes from the Chrysophanic acid found in Senna italica and Senna alexandrea. The tannins and chrysophanic acid in senna tighten the cuticle, making smoother and shiny. It also has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties which are used topically to treat eczema and psoriasis, making it beneficial to the scalp, too.
Why Sarenrae Blonde Herbal Hair Color is better than Cassia Obovata alone
Sarenrae is much brighter gold and the color lasts longer than just Senna italica (cassia obovata) because it also uses Senna alexandrea, which has much higher levels of chrysophanic acid.
That’s Senna italica (commonly called cassia obovata) on the left and Senna alexandrea on the right, mixed with warm distilled waterWater that has been boiled into a vapor and condensed into a liquid in a separate container, removing impurities such as chlorine, bacteria, and minerals. More and applied to white mohair for 2 hours. |
Ingredients
Cassia (Senna italica)Sometimes called Cassia Obovata, this plant contains moderate levels of Chrysophanic acid, which both gives a golden dye and has anti-fungal and anti bacterial properties. Often, this golden color fades in 4-8 weeks. More, Senna (Senna alexandrea)This plant contains high amounts of Chrysophanic acid, which both gives a golden dye and has anti-fungal and anti bacterial properties. Often, this golden color fades in 4-8 weeks. More, Chamomile flowers (Matricaria recutita)A plant with a long-standing reverence as a beneficial herb for both hair and skin. Chamomile flowers sooth itching on the scalp and smooths the hair cuticle, giving shine, conditioning, and, to very pale hair, weak golden tones. More, Ginger Root (Zingiber officinale)The most widely used and available herbal remedy on the planet, ginger helps to promote circulation and detoxification and thus may aid in hair growth. This herb also adds a pleasant scent to the herbal blend. More, Horsetail (Shavegrass, Equisetum arvense)One of the most abundant sources of silica in the plant kingdom, it is an essential building block of hair, adding strength and encouraging growth. More, Yellow Dock (Rumex crispus)Soothing to the scalp, this herb has been used for centuries to heal inflamed, weeping, irritated skin conditions. More, Burdock Root (Arctium lappa)Contains mucilage and starches that soothes irritated skin and membranes and is one of the most effective herbs for promoting hair growth and reducing the amount of hair shed. More, Marshmallow Root (Althaea officinalis)Soothes both the skin and scalp, it provides excellent relief from skin and scalp irritation while leaving hair soft and shining. More, Aloe Leaf (Aloe Vera)Soothing and nurturing, aloe leaf provides many of the elements effective in fighting hair loss: Biotin, b-vitamins, zinc and inositil. It also contains anti-bacterial properties that keep the scalp healthy by controlling scalp infections that can prohibit hair growth. More, Hibiscus Flowers (Hibiscus Rosa Sinensis)An emollient (meaning it helps the cuticle of the hair lay down) and a demulcent (meaning it leaves a light soothing film behind) this herb has a cooling effect. It is also an excellent natural conditioner that may impart a warm reddish color to hair. More, and Stinging Nettle Leaf (Urtica dioica)Often called nature’s conditioner, Stinging Nettle is natural deep cleanser useful for oily skin and hair that promotes hair growth. More
