Directions

Post-Shower End Protection: Rub a pea-sized dollop between the palms. Starting at the very ends of towel-dried hair, press palms gently together and slide over the ends of the hair. Repeat as necessary, starting up higher on the length of the hair each time until palms are clean of salve. If hair appears greasy when dry, use a smaller amount next time and apply carefully, being mindful to spread the salve evenly. With only such a small amount needed, this jar will last you a very long time!
Deep Treatment: Apply liberally to length of damp or dry hair, let sit under shower cap for 1-2 hours. Wash.

I know that I usually praise Melissas products, but WOW! I’ve tried all of her old salves and this truly is the one to rule them all! First of all, the smell is absolutely divine! It really melts in my hands and is super easy to apply both to my hair and skin. She took her time to get the recepie right and I get why, since it’s really a step up from the old salves. They were great, but not this easy to handle or “get where you wanted them”.
I’ve used it in my hair, on my face on top of my regular face cream and on my hands. When it was -19 C (-2F) I only used the salve and skipped my face cream, since I didn’t want so much moisture, before heading outside. My face stayed nice and soft all day! It’s exactly what I need in this cold and dry climate.

I do no give out very many reviews, but I have used NightBlooming henna twice before, and love it; even with some strands of gray in my hair which turned a golden red. I recently bought the Feathelas Healing Salve I used it and went to work that day with my hair down, well you know how people say young children just blurt out what they see or feel. I work at a preschool and when I went into work that day one of the preschoolers who was just 5 years old asked me how come my hair was sparklee! I smiled and said maybe because I was out in the sun. I got the smaller size over a month ago and I am only now getting near the end, even with daily use. It’s great for the ends of my long, fine, hair and beyond that, is exceptional for an eczema patch near my tailbone that was driving me crazy. Applied this daily after shower and it cleared up after only a few days. If it reoccurs I just use this again. It absorbs well, it’s got a very luxurious texture that’s unique, and it smells divine. Boy do I love this stuff. I’ve never had so many good hair days in a row. I’ve been using it for three weeks, washing my fine, wavy, dry-ish hair once to twice a week. I use damp hands to apply it to damp hair, then scrunch a little bit to bring out my waves. My hair is soft, shiny, touchable, and far less frizzy. My waves look great even though this technically doesn’t have hold like a gel, which I think is down to the hydrating/moisture-locking properties of the salve. It also is basically weightless, which I appreciate because I really dislike the heavy feeling of product on my hair. A little goes a long way (and I have very long hair), so even though it is a small jar it really lasts. I am a huge fan!!

This hands down the *best* leave-in I’ve ever used. I used to think my hair was the texture of “dead grass” because…well, just because (seldom blow-dry it, and never dye, so I just assumed it was genetic). But this salve works wonders and it gives my coarse 2B hair a beautiful texture and sheen. Now it forms waves as it naturally wants to, and holds its shape without the need for hair-spray, etc. I tried the salve as a way to get off the cycle of plastic bottle use, and I’m so glad I did. I got the restorative hair healer’s kit because it had sample sizes of many products I was interested in trying, including this salve. I had read great things about the salve while lurking on The Long Hair Community website, and I have wanted to try it for a while. After many applications over the last couple of weeks, I have to say it lives up to its reputation. I’m always looking for that balance between locking in moisture but not leaving my hair stringy and clumping with too much product. This salve makes the hair of my ends hang just right, reducing their tendency to fluff away from each other. But it doesn’t leave my hair with that stringy, over-saturated look. Melissa’s products are excellent, I am really pleased with them! Thank you so much!
