Some updates before the new site
You might notice some changes as I finalize things between NightBlooming.com and Etsy in preparation for the big debut on April 20th.
Pricing Adjustments
When looking at the rewards page on the new site things just felt… off. They looked off, too because the value of the rewards (which scale with the item’s price) just didn’t seem to line up with what you would expect. I knew I had some products that I hadn’t looked at in ages–a lot has gone neglected in the past 4 years while I was writing and editing and publishing The Iyarri Chronicles– so with a little help from my data analyst friend, I worked out some modifications to my pricing equation.
Some prices went up, for which I am sincerely sorry, but it’s also out of necessity–I pride myself on making my products with quality ingredients from ethical suppliers and I’m not willing to compromise on that.
Other prices went down as over time I have better estimates of my own time and what to charge for things. I’ve also gotten faster, which reduces the amount of labor factored into each product.
I have all the major products done, so while you might see a few more adjustments in the future, it’s largely sorted.
Product Migration
This hasn’t happened yet, but will happen soon. Because Etsy levees fees on the entire transaction cost (meaning the item cost AND the cost to ship it) the heaviest (and often most expensive) products get hit the most. When the NightBlooming storefront is open, I’ll be removing these products from Etsy:
- Selkie Refills
- 500g Herbal Hair Color pouches
- 4oz oil bottles
- 8oz Thriae
The goal is to make Etsy a place where people discover NightBlooming and then migrate over here once they learn about the full product offerings and rewards that only exist off Etsy.
If you really really have to purchase one of the migrated items on Etsy for some reason, that’s fine, just let me know and I’ll make you a custom listing. 😊
Patrons get early access and additional Moonseeds!
Patrons will have early access tomorrow, so if you can’t wait you can become a Patron for as little as $2. This early access group will help me find bugs and fix issues before the site is accessible to everyone on April 20th.
They’ll also get additional Moonseeds (more to come on those soon), based on the tier of their pledge.

hahhahahaa I am still working on that one, but it will be next! I do have it set up now where international orders over $35 get a $5 discount on shipping, so it’s not much, but it’s something!
