Rewards, Discount Codes, and Insider Perks at NightBlooming

It’s become depressingly common to watch products shrink, ingredients degrade, customer service get replaced by bots, and prices continue to climb anyway. In an era of shrinkflation and enshittification, maintaining quality, transparency, and personal connection has become infuriatingly rare.

NightBlooming has always stood in deliberate resistance to that trend — because I do.

That means I don’t stealth-swap in cheaper ingredients, reduce product sizes without saying so, or hide value behind endless rotating coupon codes. Instead, NightBlooming is about long-term value.

Looking for a NightBlooming coupon or discount code?

Short answer: take $5 off your first NightBlooming.com order with code 5Welcome.

NightBlooming doesn’t run rotating coupon codes, high-pressure flash sales, or fake-discount weekends. Instead the savings are built into the shop itself — Moonseeds, bulk sizes, refill pouches, free shipping over $35, and a standing 15% discount for Patrons.

Those stack. On a real restock, they add up to $82 off the same $208 order bought elsewhere, and I’m going to show you exactly how that works.

Prices and program details current as of August 2026.

Why there aren't constant coupon codes

I tipped my hand to my customers last Black Friday and explained that I don’t do deep, constant discounting because I’m not baking that “discount” into my pricing the other 51 weeks of the year. A lot of companies constantly sending out 15–20% off codes and then baiting you with 40–60% off on Black Friday are building that discount into the base price and pretending you’re coming out ahead.

It’s a markup you’re paying every day there isn’t a sale.

Instead, savings are built directly into NightBlooming through:

Nothing makes me happier than seeing my customers — and especially my Patrons — use every bit of value available and walk away feeling like they got away with a magical heist. And if you stick around, I’ll show you how they pull it off.

Where to buy NightBlooming: Etsy, the website, and Patreon

NightBlooming exists across a few different spaces, and each one plays a different role in how you discover, shop, and save. Most people move through it in stages: finding me on Etsy, journeying on to NightBlooming.com, and eventually joining the inner circle as a Patron.

NightBlooming isn’t just a shop — it’s a little pocket world of handmade herbal hair care. If you’ve ever looked at your life, looked out the window and wished you could vanish into a forest treehouse to grow a garden, care for yourself with herbs, and keep your own quiet rituals — the kind that make you check the lunar hair care calendar before booking a trim — welcome home.

Let’s open the gate and see what’s growing.

Etsy: the garden gate (and why prices are higher there)

Etsy is the doorway through which most of you entered the NightBlooming world.

Because Etsy runs as a marketplace where I essentially rent space and incur fees on every sale, so pricing reflects that reality. If you prefer to shop there, there’s a special Share & Save link which helps offset those fees and lets me keep pricing there lower.

Etsy holds a smaller, curated selection of NightBlooming — just the pieces that travel best through that doorway.

Some customers, especially my international ones, prefer Etsy because of its buyer and seller protection program, and because Etsy also handles VAT collection and remittance in many regions.

For some people, Etsy is exactly the right fit, and they journey no further. I opened my Etsy shop in 2006, but over time NightBlooming was starting to feel like a plant in a too-small pot, struggling to grow into everything it could be. When NightBlooming got repotted to its own website, it really began to flourish.

Letters from the Garden (no spam, no nonsense)

If you’d like to keep in touch without having to track where I’m posting things, my mailing list is the best way to hear about new products, sales, and helpful articles.

You’ll also get instant access to my 40-page 10 Damaging Natural Hair Care Pitfalls & What to Do Instead guide.

I never sell or share your information; this is just me, writing to you now and then.

NightBlooming.com: where things take root — Moonseeds, bulk sizes & free shipping

This is where NightBlooming truly unfurls and begins to bloom. If Etsy is the garden gate, this is where you step inside the ivy-covered walls and realize there’s a lot more here than you could see from the outside. The garden here is more diverse, the harvest far more bountiful, and there’s no pressure.

Etsy wants you to impulse buy, and since it’s their marketplace I can’t stop them from high-pressure tactics like, “Don’t you know there are only 2 of this thing and it’s in EVERYONE ELSE’S CART???”

I don’t want you to impulse buy. Where Etsy has all but hidden an item’s description in favor of packing in reviews and pictures and add-on items, I want to give you a purchase experience that feels good — that lets you thoughtfully look at every ingredient and know what it is and why it’s there, and that gives you resources to understand me, NightBlooming, and my products and processes.

And on top of a better shopping experience, NightBlooming has several benefits that dovetail together into savings you simply cannot get on Etsy.

Benefits on NightBlooming.com

  • Earn Moonseeds with every purchase and through other small actions, redeemable for discounts or even free products.
  • Choose bulk sizes that lower the cost per use, or refill options that skip the extra packaging and bring the price down further.
  • Free domestic shipping on orders $35+, and $5 off international orders — applied instantly, no code needed.
  • Unfettered access to the full range of products and sizes, instead of the smaller curated selection on Etsy.
NightBlooming Moonseeds rewards program

And this is where some of you start getting raccoon energy and taking full advantage, to my supreme delight and amusement. Think of it like putting milk and honey out for faeries — I put them there on purpose, for you — and once you see how they fit together, it gets even better.

How to stack discounts on NightBlooming.com (5 steps)

Few things are more irksome than sites that won’t let you use reward points during a sale, or that find other ways to roadblock you from using the benefits they dangle in front of you. On NightBlooming I not only built a system that lets you stack — I’m going to tell you exactly how to do it.

Step 0 — Make an account and log in. Moonseeds require an account, and you must be logged in to earn or redeem them. Express checkout methods (like checking out as a guest with PayPal) essentially mean you forgot your basket at the gate and can’t harvest Moonseeds.

Step 1 — Check your Moonseeds first. You may already have money sitting there in Moonseed form. You earn them through ordering, referring friends, leaving reviews, and other actions, then redeem them for discounts, free samples, and other goodies. Generate the codes you want and apply them before you shop. Here’s a tutorial showing exactly how to redeem and enter your Moonseed codes.

Step 2 — Shop like you’re stocking the root cellar for winter. Labels, bags, and packaging all add cost, so bulk sizes and refills cut it. A 500g bulk bag of Fire Genasi costs less than four 100g packets and instantly qualifies for free shipping. A 1oz glass bottle of Selkie Herbal Detangler is $6.25, but an 8oz Refill Pouch is $19.50 — $2.44 an ounce — so refilling that bottle saves a great deal.

Step 3 — Aim for the $35 free shipping threshold. Orders over $35 get free domestic shipping; international orders get $5 off. Our lizard brains really like free shipping — Etsy once ran a customer survey showing people prefer a $60 item with “free shipping” over a $40 item plus $20 shipping. So throw the lizard brain and your wallet a bone and build your order to take advantage of it.

Step 4 — Farm Moonseeds like it’s your side quest (because it kind of is). You earn Moonseeds with every order, including a bonus on your first, plus for writing reviews, referring friends, and commenting on posts and articles — yes, including this one. I even give you extra Moonseeds on your birthday. See every way to earn and redeem Moonseeds on the Rewards page. Remember: you must have an account and be logged in to harvest them.

Step 5 — If it’s your first order, use the welcome code. It’s 5Welcome, and you can apply it by clicking here once you’re logged in.

NightBlooming veterans are like the raccoon I cannot keep out of my birdbath, in the best possible way. Once you know how to put an order together, the discounts and benefits stack up in a hurry.

Patreon: The inner Circle — membership perks & the Evergreen Discount

For some of you, learning how to reap the most bountiful harvest from NightBlooming is enough. You’ve learned to stack bulk packages and refills, earn and redeem Moonseeds, and skip shipping costs, and that’s all you could ever want or need.

But at the back of the garden is another gate, and this one opens into the secluded inner circle of Patreon, where all sorts of magical rituals and rewards await. There’s a whole secret garden where I share what I’m working on, what I’m writing, and the woodland visitors who inhabit my world.

What's a Patron? And what's Patreon?

Historically, art patronage was the gift of support and thus survival. Royalty and the aristocracy retained artists who created art in return for food, lodging, and much-needed supplies. But support like that doesn’t need to come from some elite group; it can come from everyday people giving a little bit here and there.

My Patrons are trusted supporters of my creative projects, which allows me to produce the things they love, give them a peek behind the curtain, and enjoy coveted rewards. Patreon is simply the platform that makes that possible.

You can step inside for free

There are no guards posted at the gate. But there is a crow. It tilts its head, caws at you, and flies through the gate. Do you follow?

You can make a free Patreon account and follow me in no time at all, which gets you:

  • Monthly behind-the-scenes updates and a peek into my interior world
  • Answers to questions Patrons ask
  • Early glimpses of things I’m working on
  • CrowKeeping ambiance videos (more on that in a moment)

Some of my writing lives here as well — unpublished pieces like my Wardens of the Equinox serial novel. At a certain point those continue deeper into the paid tiers, but you can wander in and explore the beginning without committing to anything.

Moonseed Harvests: A small thing that adds up over time

Once you become a paid Patron and claim your small corner of the garden, Moonseeds begin to grow there — ones that are just for you.

Each month you can gather a Moonseed Harvest by commenting on the monthly post; the dollar amount of your tier gets you that many extra Moonseeds a month. These are yours to claim and use however you like. It’s a small, steady addition, but like most things here, it’s designed to build over time.

The $2 Patron tier: Patron-only store, product voting & CrowKeeping

This is where your NightBlooming experience goes from special to magical.

  • Access to the Patron-only storefront and exclusive products — limited-edition shampoo and conditioner bars, washi tape, organic honey from our bees
  • A say in what comes next, through voting on future products
  • CrowKeeping

That crow you saw at the gate? His name is Umbriel, and he’s very real.

About the crows and CrowKeeping

Few animals are as steeped in mythology and folklore as crows: clever, mysterious, and darkly beautiful. A copper offering bowl was the start — shiny and full of food I hoped they’d love. My relationship with them is not domestication or taming. The crows remain entirely themselves: wild, intelligent, and free.

Over time I’ve come to recognize their family, their patterns, and their place in the world. In CrowKeeping, I share that with you.

All Patrons enjoy Crow Ambiance videos — extended takes of the crows, sometimes set to music, perfect for study, meditation, or just relaxing.

At the $2 tier you get full access to the CrowKeeping posts and the multiple cameras that give us insight into their world.

You already met Umbriel, but within Crowkeeping you’ll also see:

  • Umbriel’s family, who they are, and how they interact with one another and with me
  • Favorite foods and personal preferences (yes, they absolutely have them)
  • Glimpses into their world through the cameras
  • Their story as they work together to thrive in a Driftless region oak forest
  • The gifts they’ve brought me, and the shadowbox I curate them in

This inner circle is not just mine — it’s theirs too, and Patreon lets you step into their remarkably complex world.

The $7 Patron tier: the 15% Evergreen Discount

At this point you’re attuned to the garden: growing Moonseeds, making thoughtful purchases, and are able to tell Umbriel from Irithyl (and Umbriel from Eldritch, if you’re very keen-eyed).

And here, at the $7 level and above, you receive the Evergreen Discount — 15% off everything in the shop, every order, every day. Instead of hoping a sale happens, you’ve learned to cast a 15%-off discount spell whenever you need it.

This way you order when it makes sense for you. Your monthly Moonseed Harvest becomes more bountiful, turning into larger discounts that layer directly with the Evergreen Discount. Most places make you choose between rewards and discounts. I don’t. I want you to pick up bulk packages and refills, layer the 15% Evergreen Discount and free shipping on top, and bring it down further with a $10 Moonseed redemption.

NightBlooming vs Etsy: a real order compared

Remember when I said I give a little smirk of approval when I see my Patrons pull off what amounts to a magical heist? Here’s exactly how one is done.

Let’s say you found NightBlooming on Etsy, tried some samples, and moved on to NightBlooming.com for products you couldn’t get there. You’ve got some Moonseeds stashed and you’re ready to place a larger restock order.

Both carts below clear the $35 free-shipping threshold. The difference comes from bulk sizes, refills, Patron-only options, and the fact that Moonseed redemptions stack with the Evergreen Discount — by design.

The same restock, two ways:

Yes, you can move between Patreon tiers when it benefits you

I’ve had more than one sheepish Patron confess they do this — and they’re always delighted to find that I not only allow it, I encourage it.

If you’re usually at the $2 level and planning a larger order, you’re welcome to step up to the $7 tier for that month, use the Evergreen Discount, and settle back afterward.

It’s not uncommon. But if you do find yourself sticking around, Patreon also offers an annual option at 16% off for a year’s signup. In practice that’s three months of the Evergreen Discount free, without micromanaging your membership.

For those who simply want to give more

The higher Patreon tiers aren’t about better deals. They’re for people who want to support NightBlooming at a deeper level, and in return get access to special releases, exclusive products, and other little pieces that don’t live in the main shop.

And if you ask my Patrons? They’ll happily tell you I look for excuses to spoil them.

Frequently asked questions

Yes — new customers can use 5Welcome for $5 off a first order at NightBlooming.com. Beyond that, NightBlooming doesn’t run rotating coupon codes. Savings come from Moonseeds that convert into codes for discounts and free products, bulk sizes, refills, free shipping over $35, and the Patron Evergreen Discount.

Yes. You must have a NightBlooming account and be logged in at checkout. Guest and express checkout (including guest PayPal) won’t earn or redeem Moonseeds.

NightBlooming.com, substantially. Etsy’s marketplace fees are reflected in its pricing, and bulk sizes, refill pouches, Moonseeds, and the Patron discount don’t exist there. The comparison above shows about $82 in savings on a single restock.

A standing 15% off everything in the shop, on every order, every day, available to Patrons at the $7 tier and above. It requires no code and no waiting for a sale.

Yes — by design. Bulk pricing, refills, free shipping, Moonseed redemptions, and the 15% Evergreen Discount all layer together.

Domestic orders over $35 ship free. International orders over $35 get $5 off shipping. Both apply automatically.

Yes, and it’s encouraged. Patrons regularly step up to the $7 tier for a large order to use the Evergreen Discount, then step back down afterward.

There are many paths through the NightBlooming garden

I built NightBlooming to be a place I would want to shop at — one that offers sincerely handmade, natural products, is transparent about ingredients, and rewards its customers and Patrons rather than overpricing everything just to offer “discounts” to new customers.

If you’re happy with Etsy, I’m not here to force your hand or change your mind.

But if you’ve passed through the garden gate into NightBlooming, I hope the rewards delight you and the crows caw at you in approval as you make off with your hard-earned shinies.

And one last thing: leave a comment below and harvest a Moonseed for it. I read every one.
